Zhejiang Cixi's firepower is fully on, and heaters are "exploding" in the European market

According to a report by People's Daily on January 15, 2025, Chinese heating products are showing a hot selling trend in the European market, becoming the new favorite of local consumers for heating.
In recent years, the continuous rise in energy prices in Europe has prompted consumers to turn to more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly heating equipment. In this context, air source heat pumps have rapidly become popular in the European market due to their green, environmentally friendly, and economically efficient characteristics. According to data from the International Energy Agency, households that replace traditional gas boilers with heat pumps can save an average of about $900 in energy costs per year. With its strong manufacturing capabilities and continuously improving technological level, China has become one of the main suppliers of air source heat pumps in Europe, with heat pump product sales accounting for about 60% of the European market share.
As an important base for China's small household appliance industry, Cixi in Zhejiang Province has shown particularly outstanding performance. Cixi has over 2000 home appliance manufacturers and nearly 10000 supporting enterprises, and is known as the "capital of small home appliances". The products produced by over 100 local heater companies account for nearly one-third of the national export volume. According to statistics from Cixi Customs, from January to November 2024, Cixi's heater exports amounted to 3.44 billion yuan, accounting for 24.9% of the total national heater exports. The top five export countries and regions are the European Union, the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, and South Korea.
Ningbo Renewal Electric Appliance Industry Co., Ltd. is one of the representative enterprises in the Cixi heater industry. Its foreign trade manager Li Qiang introduced that in 2024, the company's heater exports amounted to 120 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12%. Only one British customer placed an order for 25000 electric fireplaces with a value of over 1.2 million US dollars.
The success of Chinese heating products in the European market cannot be achieved without technological innovation and precise grasp of market demand. On the one hand, Chinese home appliance companies continue to increase their research and development investment, constantly improving the performance and intelligence level of their products. From smart warm handbags, foot warmers, and heating scarves that can be used by connecting to USB, to smart electric heaters that use artificial intelligence temperature control technology, and even massage beds with heating functions, they greatly meet the daily needs of different customers.
Faced with the vast opportunities in the European market, Chinese heating equipment companies are also actively considering how to achieve sustainable development. Industry insiders point out that strengthening the construction of independent brands, expanding regional brand recognition, and consolidating the user base are important paths for Chinese home appliance companies to "go global". Enterprises need to keenly grasp market demand, continuously increase research and development investment, improve product quality, create more technically competitive products, better showcase the creativity of Chinese manufacturing, and transform Chinese heating products from "internet celebrities" to "long-lasting celebrities", continuously shining brightly in the international market.
